Geocentricity Lives!
Apparently, my video series on Christian education is drawing fire from a small minority of creationists who still believe that the entire heavens revolve around the earth. An individual who calls himself nephilimfree has prepared 2 video responses to my first lesson. You don’t want to miss this!

I think these are great because I’ve been arguing with many creationists on my YouTube channel that any strict YEC-type of concordism that denies a geocentric cosmology is inconsistent. Many creationists are not aware that the Bible only describes a geocentric universe, so it’s great that geocentricists are now making video responses to my video lessons.
By the way, things have been quiet over here because I’ve had my hands full over at http://www.youtube.com/glovergj responding to comments on the videos. If you find yourself in the mood for a healthy scrap, feel free to come on over and join me.

Thanks for the links, Gordon. What a hoot! On his second video I left comments on all of his measurements corresponding to the diameter of the sun and moon. He did things like leave the capitals off of the columns of the temple, ignore the seventh day of the siege of jericho, and count only two dimensions of the ark of the covenant and Noah’s ark. Really rigorous work.
He has to “approve” all comments, though, so I don’t know if mine will get through.

Gordon,
Good to hear your videos are getting people talking! Just wanted to give you a heads up with this blog too: http://www.reclaimingthemind.org/blog/2009/05/six-views-on-the-creationevolution-debate/
It’s gone on for over 700 comments now, and what I found neat about the whole discussion was that it started out pro-YEC, then an OEC who knew his stuff took the place by storm, and now we’ve got a Christian biologist (who seems to be a regular reader of BTF) making a case for evolution.
You videos are getting decent airtime in some comments too, so I’d like to thank you for them! They are very helpful!
Greg
P.S. - Have you gotten John Walton’s new book, The Lost World of Genesis One, yet? I got it a few days ago and cant wait to start it.

AMW, that was you? Good job. You really flustered him. Of course, it’s not really that difficult to do.

Greg, looks like a great debate. I’ve been having these same discussions on my youtube channel.
I don’t have Walton’s book yet, but I’m going to order it very soon!

Gordon,
I was surprised he actually posted my comments. Unfortunately, it looks like I’ve been banned from futuer comments. I left responses to his responses, but to no avail. I also left a comment on his first video noting that the Dembski papers he cites don’t say anything about the sun’s gravitational field. That didn’t make it through his filter either.
I’ve always disliked chatter on pro-science blogs dismissing creationists - not creationism, but the creationists themeselves - as a lost cause and not worth the effort of discussion. That bothers me since I am myself a former creationist. But after my experience with Nephilim Free I’m starting to understand the argument.
