I loved the Michelangelo stuff!
I’m currently reading Ken Miller’s book, Only a Theory. I recommend it if you haven’t already read it. His dismantling of I.D. is excellent.
Thanks again, Gordon!

Gordon,
This is a good video, and I really like the GULO gene example. In fact, along with nested hierarchies, it was one of the most powerful arguments to me from your earlier video series. I’m a little worried that your explanation of why the pseudo-genes are useful to scientists will be a little too technical for most viewers. I know what you’re driving at, but I even had a little trouble following it.
Cliff,
For my money, Miller is the premier Christian apologist for evolution. (No offense, Gordon. You’re in my top 5.) I’m working through Only a Theory as well, but haven’t finished with it yet. If I were to give three books to a creationist in hopes that he would have his mind open, it would be Gordon’s BTF, Miller’s Finding Darwin’s God, and Daniel Fairbanks’ Relics of Eden, in that order.
If you’re a little confused as to why I would give BTF first, even though I consider Miller the premier apologist, it’s because Gordon gets at the heart of the issue that most creationists are really concerned about: the Bible. I’m convinced that the proper way to sway a creationist is to first give him a viable alternative interpretive frame for reading Genesis. That seems to be a great mind-opener to the scientific evidence that’s out there.
