Just because someone has a ThD doesn't mean that their exegesis is correct. Consider where they received their degree: most likely a school in which their beliefs were validated by a similarly-minded staff. Other Christians who are not really that concerned about adding to the scientific body of knowledge, but are rather seeking reassurance from scientists with PhDs that their belief system is ok.
