Great Quote

My wife’s grandfather, who is a pastor of an evangelical church down in Texas, shared this quotation by the German theologian Dr. Wolfhart Pannenberg.  It was taken from an article in First Things called “God of the Philosophers” (June/July 2007, Number 174, pp. 33).

”We do well to remember that the biblical account of creation employed the natural science of that time, most notably Babylonian cosmology.  So also will a comtemporary account of creation employ contemporary science, including modern cosmology and theories about the evolution of life.  Employing such resources today is in continuity with the methods employed by the writers of the Genesis accounts of creation.”
